[Summer 2026] Black Ameraucana Cockerel

Description

Black Ameraucana cockerels are bred from Black x black pairings in 2026— the blacks coming off our Ermine line pairings (covered by a lovely Triple S black am) have been so nice that we’ve decided to run a pen of black x black this year.  Expect good size large fowl birds with a bit of underfloof, with significant green sheen (green to purple!) and more than ample muffs and beards. We think our blacks are really great quality, and bonus— they are adorable mini-versions of full grown birds as they grow out. No awkaward teenager stage! You’ll fall for them.

This line tends to produce eggs that register as A7, A9, A11, and A15 on the Ameraucana Alliance egg color reference chart, with an occasional saturated B2, B6 or C5.

We will try to get better photos of our black ams in the near future!

Cockerels will be available to ship in summer to fall. I grow them out special for completed presales.

Shipping is expensive on juvenile birds, calculated by USPS Priority Express by weight. ONE COCKEREL can fit in a special live bird box and I charge $125 flat rate. If costs to your location are more (often they will be) I will cover the difference.
